Why adopt?

Changing a life changes yours too

Adopting a dog from a shelter is not just an act of kindness. It is one of the best decisions you can make.

Unconditional Love

An adopted dog knows you gave them a second chance. That gratitude becomes an unconditional love that no words can describe.

Rewarding Experience

Watching a scared dog transform into a confident and happy companion is one of the most enriching experiences a person can have.

Joy and Smiles

Studies show that having a dog improves mental health, reduces stress, and increases happiness. Every day with your dog is a better day.

Ready for adoption

Each of them has a unique personality and so much love to give. Could the next home be yours?

About us

Fighting animal abandonment since day one

CAPA Póvoa de Lanhoso is a volunteer association committed to animal welfare. We were born from the need to fight dog abandonment in our municipality. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to rescuing, treating, and finding loving homes for every animal that comes to us.

Every dog that passes through our shelter receives veterinary care, food, affection, and the attention they deserve. Our team of volunteers works every day so that no animal is left behind.
